Not much to report

Life has been pretty normal around here. Work, playgroup, playdates, housework and tying to not let two toddlers destroy the house, themselves, each other and my sanity! Its a bit like groundhog day/week here at the moment really.

We did manage a weekend away last weekend to Rod's parents house. They live in a small seaside town in northern NSW and are away in WA at the moment so we took the opportunity to have a 'free' weekend away. We did very little - walk around the river and a trip to the playground one day, beach another but spent most afternoons just lazing around. Here are my favourite photos from the weekend:

Brotherly and sisterly love *heart*

Cali and Oscar are both well. Both had a cold a few weeks ago, but nothing major. I know they will be getting a fair few runny noses now we are heading into winter and with them going to daycare two days a week it is really unavoidable. We had a bad night with Cali on Tuesday night. She ended up in bed with us (and then just me when DH moved to the spare bed). She tossed and flopped and turned for a few hours, managed to roll over the pillow barricade onto the floor, still asleep mind you, and basically didn't let me sleep. There didn't appear to be anything majorly wrong with her so I took her back to her own bed and had to let her cry a little but Rod was able to get her to calm down pretty quickly. She is a bit clingy to me at the moment, so it was better for him to do this then my, otherwise she would have not calmed down I think :( But yesterday I discovered the cause of the issues. After her throwing huge tantrum after tantrum when we got home from daycare/work, I discover two new teeth! Her top two two yr old molars are coming through! Poor chicken :( I only checked their teeth last week and couldn't see anything and this week they are though. At least it means she only has two more now. Oscar was a bit sooky and whingy today and his gums look a little red and going on history, I wouldn't be surprised if he pops some through in the next week too.

18 Month Check Up

Last month at almost 19 months, Cali and Oscar had their 18 month check up and immunisation. There is only one immunisation at 18 months - chickenpox, but after talking to the GP we also decided to give them the Swine Flu vaccination too. Cali had some tears when they both went in, but Oscar didn't even flinch or cry! Brave boy!

Stats are as follows:

Cali:
Weight (bare) 10.56kg
Length: 80.5cm
HC: 47cm

Oscar
Weight (bare) 10.445kg
Length: 82.5cm
HC: 48.5cm

They are both meeting all the relevant milestones with Cali's speech excellent for an 18 month old. She is such a chatterbox and starting now to string 3 words together. i.e I can say to her - "Mummy is going to the toilet" which she replies "do a wee". Oscar's speech has improved in leaps in bounds over the past month too. I think having a 'big' sister who doesn't shut all day helps. One thing she doesn't really say is her own name. They both can say 'Oscar' and seem to call each other 'Oscar' at times. Maybe Oscar is easier for them to say? I can say 'where is Cali?" and Cali will point to herself and Oscar will point to her, or go looking for her, so I know they know it, just getting them to say it is a different story.

They are climbing everything, well everything that their little legs will allow them to! The lounges and beds are know trampolines. They both stand up on them and say 'jumpy, jumpy" and think it is a funny game to keep going when we ask them to sit down or hop off.....ahhh.. the fun toddlers years of testing the boundaries. I think God created toddlers to send parents INSANE!!

How did March get here so quickly?

I don't know where the weeks are going. Our weeks are full and busy with playdates, daycare/work days and playgroup. This really does make the days and weeks (and months!) fly by. Nothing much exciting has happened since my last post, just the usual day to day chaos that living with twins brings. They are talking and chatting and stringing words together and don't shut up all day. We had their 18month check up a month ago (at 19months) which I will post about in another post. I just wanted to do a quick post to those out there who still check in on this that I do come here to post, but I am either too tired or get interrupted.

I have also got some video of Cali and Oscar to upload, so stay posted :)
