32wks

Yesterday we had out 32wk check up and all is still going according to plan. Both twins are still head down, but our presenting twin (girl) has her neck flexed backwards at the moment, so we will be keeping an eye on that because if it stays that way, then I will have to have a cesarean. But we won't be making a decision until 36wks. I have known all along that we would be waiting until closer to the end to decide on how they will be born. All I want is two healthy babies, so I don't mind how they are born, the safest way for them and me is what we will go with. Next appointment is in 2 weeks and we will have another growth ultrasound to check on their size.

They are still very active and getting much stronger. As both sets of feet are up high near my ribs, sometimes their movements and kicks can hurt! But I love the feeling of them moving, so I am not complaining :)

So we are on the downward straight, the end is near, we just need them to stay put for at least another 3 weeks as the hospital here in Coffs Harbour doesn't deliver before then as there is no NICU, only a SCN. My OB doesn't seem to think they will come before then, so I am hoping to last until closer to 38wks. This pregnancy has gone very quickly and I have enjoyed being pregnant, morning sickness and all! I am cherishing every moment, because I may never have another pregnancy after this one. But I will have two precious little ones who I can't wait to meet.

Baby Shower

On Sunday 25 May, my lovely mum threw a baby shower for me. There were about 15 friends and family (all women of course!) who came and was great to catch up with them all before the babies arrive. Mum had organised some games to play which was good fun along with prizes for the winners.

I got spoilt with presents - well the babies got spoilt actually! We ended up with sheets, towels, clothes, bibs, nappies, a vaporizer, a cot mobile, wraps, blankets.......and some other stuff which I can't remember. People are really generous when it comes to babies!! Thanks you for all the lovely gifts everyone :) Here is a pic of what I got.

We then had an afternoon tea of yummy food made by mum, my sister in laws and my nan.

30wks!

I had my 30wk check up this week and all is still going well! We had a growth scan done on the bubs and Twin A (girl) is approx 1.5kg and Twin B (boy) 1.7kg. My OB is really happy with their growth and both are pretty spot on for dates. They are pretty active these days and sometimes think its time to party at 4am! I hope that isn't a sign of things to come!!

Other than having a cold/cough and pulling a muscle from coughing (ouch!) I am feeling good and hoping I stay that way. My next appointment is in two weeks and we will have another growth scan at 34wks.

Other news: My sister in law had a baby boy on Friday - Macsen Joel 6pd 12oz. She had a quick labour and no complications and drug free.....she is a trooper! Both mum and bub are doing well. I'll post a pic when I have one. We saw him about 1 1/2 hrs after he was born and he was soooo tiny. It really hit home that I will have two of those in the not too distant future.
